On the 23 March, Singapore lost its Founding Father, Minister Mentor Mr Lee Kuan Yew.
The week following 23 March 2015 was the national mourning week for Mr Lee!! There were over 18 community site for Singaporeans to pay tribute to Mr Lee.
To show my gratitude to Mr Lee for all that he had done for us, the future generation, I volunteered to help out at the community site as an usher! In the first place, I would like to volunteer at the Padang (the queuing area at the Parliament House), however, due to over crowding at Padang, the City Hall MRT had been closed. Thus, I went to the Kovan Tribute Site.
I went to the parliament house to pay respect to Mr Lee on the 26 March. I reached padang at about 7am, therefore I was first in the queue so I managed to get into the parliament house to pay respect within 1hr 30mins. The average queue waiting time at the parliament house for the four days of State Funeral Wake is about 4 to 5hrs. Hence, 1hr 30mins was a fast queue!!
To show our appreciation to Mr Lee KY my mum, sister and I made an appreciation board for Mr Lee!! We folded butterfly, flower and crane origami!!
Last but not least, the words as follow is
written to Thank Mr Lee for what he has done for us..
